Seán is a director, writer, and dramaturg. He is artistic director for Tilted Wig Productions - a UK touring theatre company, and a permanent acting lecturer at Manchester School of Theatre. 
Originally from London and now based in Greater Manchester, Seán holds both British and Irish passports. 

In 2026, he directed the second national tour of SPITFIRE GIRLS, a new play by Katherine Senior. A co-production with MAST Mayflower Studios, SPITFIRE GIRLS was developed with the help of the National Theatre Studio's generate scheme. First produced in 2025, it has visited 23 venues to date, including Birmingham Rep, Bolton Octagon, Stephen Joseph Scarborough, & Cambridge Arts. In 2027, the production will transfer to The Park theatre for a 5-week run, followed by a 5-week run off-Broadway at 59E59. 

In Autumn 2026, Seán's adaptation of THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY will open in a new co-production with Watford Palace, touring to venues including Shakespeare North, Theatr Clwyd & Guilford's Yvonne Arnaud. 

​In 2024, his production of THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL starring Joseph Marcell opened at Theatre By The Lake and toured nationally to venues including Shakespeare North, Northampton Royal & Oxford Playhouse. 

In 2023, he directed FRANKENSTEIN - a new play based on the classic novel, which toured the UK to venues including York Theatre Royal, Derby Theatre & Ipswich New Wolsey before touring again in autumn 2024.

He has directed final-year, public productions of HEDDA GABLER, 
MR BURNS; A POST ELECTRIC PLAY and HUSBANDS AND SONS
for Manchester School of Theatre. Previously, he adapted and directed
THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY on a major UK Tour.

He was nominated for Best Director at The Stage Debut Awards for his
production of RICHARD III at the Rosemary Branch Theatre.

He assisted Derek Bond on the world premiere of Tom Fletcher's THE CHRISTMASAURUS at the Hammersmith Apollo and Damian Cruden on the UK tour of MURDER, MARGARET AND ME. 

 

In 2018, he directed new play LOVE LAB, at the Tristan Bates (now Seven Dials Playhouse) which was revived for Brighton Fringe Festival 2019.

Seán has taught and directed at various UK drama schools. As well as being a regular director at Manchester School of Theatre (MMU), he has also worked at schools including LIPA, Rose Bruford, Arts Ed and Northampton BA Acting as well as running workshops for ATG West End Creative learning.
